MOUNT MITCHELL MONDAY HOST SIGNUP
Mount Mitchell Mondays return this year with a slightly altered format. Our goal is to make hosting FUN and EASY!
GOLF- Couples golf will continue as usual! Host couple will be responsible for informing the pro shop of the total number of groups and coordinating pairings.
DINNER- This year, we’ve set up the dates and menus in advance! Choose the date/menu you’d like to host and sign up below, then get started rallying your guests!
The host couple will be invited to a complimentary dessert and cocktail tasting one month ahead of time (but no closer than two weeks from the event date) to select the dessert and signature cocktail that will accompany their menu for the evening. The Mount Mitchell Staff will present a tasting platter of at least three desserts and at least two cocktails for the host couple to choose from.
Price per buffet will be $30 per person inclusive of tax and gratuity. The signature cocktail is NOT included in the buffet price.
Reservations will be made through OpenTable at least three business days prior to the event to allow for accurate ordering. Each Mount Mitchell Monday will be set as an “experience” with the appropriate date and menu attached. You can RSVP to MMMs as far in advance as you like, so you can go ahead and begin sending your date to friends, family and neighbors as soon as you sign up.
Payments will be made the day of the event by cash or check to the Mount Mitchell Staff, host couple will NOT be responsible for collecting any payments in advance. No checks will be accepted.
Earth Day
You may remember our gorgeous course was once an apple orchard. Here in Western North Carolina, there is a strong and continuing history of apple orchards as an attraction, as a crop for mass market and as a research and educational hub for the improvement of crops and farming practices.
Recently, one of our last remaining apple trees from our course’s history as an orchard sustained wind damage and needed to be removed so players could resume their rounds safely. This April 22 in honor of Earth Day and in homage to our local heritage, every round played will re-plant one apple tree on the course.
Independence Day Celebration
The Mount Mitchell Independence Day Celebration is back on the calendar! Save the date, we’ll be lighting up the Blue Ridge Mountains again on July 5th this year. Tickets, details and musical guest information will be announced later. This event will be open to the public.
In between your rounds, check out some other wonderful things to do around Mt. Mitchell Golf Club. Plan your family vacation, corporate outing or couples trip with full confidence that there’s always something to entertain every member of your party.
Tourists talk about the purity of these waters, the great time they had, and the whopper that got away. The locals speak about magic in this river. Whatever you come looking for, allow one of our guides to show you the best the Toe River has to offer.
For the experienced angler- fishing passes can be purchased in the pro shop. Please be prepared to present your drivers license upon purchase. Barbless hooks, catch and release, single hooks, and fly rods only. Rules on the river are strictly enforced. Poachers will be prosecuted.
For the first timer, the dabbler, or the fisherperson who just wants to take a load off and let someone else do the guiding, contact Curtis Wright Outfitters from our “Fishing” page for your guided tour.
The Mount Mitchell State Park was established in 1915 and was the first state park in North Carolina. It spans 4,789 acres and boasts trails of all distances and difficulties for hikers looking for leisure or challenge.
Mt. Mitchell stands at 6,684 feet tall and is the highest peak east of the Mississippi. An observation deck provides breathtaking mountain views with easy trails at the summit to explore the Frasier fir forest. A network of more challenging trails including a section of the Mountains-to-Sea State Trail extend into the wilderness and lead to backpacking opportunities within the Pisgah National Forest.
Park amenities include seasonal concession stands, a restaurant, picnic shelters and exhibits. The temperature at the top of the mountain is often several degrees colder than Burnsville, so be sure to dress accordingly.
Take time to explore charming and historic Burnsville. The downtown square is easy to walk and exciting to explore.
